2021 Chevrolet Traverse driving on dirt road

The market for SUVs has been growing and everyone is trying to make a statement, but few can match the power and capabilities of the Chevy Traverse. The 2021 Chevy Traverse is able to get everything done in Eagan, with an incredible engine performance, bringing the Chevy Traverse towing up to 5,000 pounds. This makes it easy to haul a compact camper, or small boat, for the weekend getaways with the family, while still enjoying the impressive and attractive interior. Learn more about the new Traverse, and how you can enjoy it for yourself, by contacting us today to schedule a test drive around Woodbury.

How Much Can the Chevy Traverse Tow?

With a range of 1,500 to 5,000 pounds, the Chevy Traverse can tow an incredible amount and makes it easier to get all the equipment you need exactly where you want it to go. Without the available trailering package, it tows up to 1,500 pounds with front- and all-wheel drive. But when you opt for the available trailer package instead, that number skyrockets and the Chevy Traverse can tow up to 5,000 pounds as a result.

Engine and Towing Features in the 2021 Chevrolet Traverse

The 2021 Chevy Traverse is available in a total of seven configurations: L, LS, LT Cloth, LT Leather, RS, Premier, and High Country. Each comes equipped with a 3.6L V6 engine that’s capable of 310 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque. This is further connected to the 9-speed automatic transmission that makes it easy to shift smoothly on St. Paul roads.

  • Available Trailering Package: This package adds a hitch to the back of the Traverse, allowing you to easily attach a trailer. Additionally, it includes a heavy-duty cooling system, allowing your engine to work harder without overheating.
  • Tow/Haul Mode: The Driver Mode Control dial includes a Tow/Haul mode that automatically adjusts the transmission shift points for additional towing safety and power. During acceleration, the transmission will stay in a lower gear for longer to deliver more torque. As you travel downhill, the transmission will downshift to make it easier to retain your speed without heavily applying the brakes.
  • Trailer Sway Control: Trailer Sway Control is included as part of Stabilitrak® Electronic Stability Control System. During towing, this system senses when your trailer begins to sway and can course-correct by applying the brakes.
